'No review' of lockdown fines issued to families who travelled to get childcare in lockdown - despite Matt Hancock promising a vicar he'd 'look at it'

Mr Hancock replied:"We do understand the impact and the need for making sure that children get adequate childcare. That is one of the significant concerns that we've had all the way through this."So I think especially coming from a man of the cloth, that is perfectly reasonable to take away that question.

He told Sky News:"I hope I'm going to get an answer in some way, after Mr Hancock said he was going to get back to me. "I think everything about this weekend and the kind of storm that's going around… is about unfairness," he said.

Reverend its good that your have spoken up in the media, christainity goes hand in hand with morality, however for people like dominic cummings there is no moral obligation

Martin Poole and his friends should be investigated for touching little kids

Seems like a hell of a lot of people are willing to blame the media for Cummings breaking lockdown, bizarre.

seeing as Cummings hasn't been fined then refund of any fine plus compensation seeing as it is above board according to the PM. PS I don't agree with such travel. Lockdown is Lockdown but Cummings is the boss!

Pretty sure any fixed penalty notice has a right of appeal, but don't let that stand in the way of a good virtue signal.

Can someone in the meeja, who still retains a shred of impartiality - surely there has to be one - tell us, after numerous reports of breaches of the UK lockdown by political types, why this one by DC is so particularly glaring, it merits such an incontinent level of hysteria?

To defend an advisor who did wrong the Govt is changing laws & refunding fines which were put in place to save livesWhat does Cummings have on the PM that he is so powerful? Govt is by the people for the people not by Cummings not for the PM. He must go or Govt will have to GO!

Stick to the day job vicar

Is it Scum media or Media scum? I'm seeing both quite a bit now and was just wondering which is correct, or doesn't it matter?

There have actually been very few fines imposed. Most were just given guidance. I look forward to you telling us how many are affected.

I was first able to vote in 86, I have voted Conservative, I voted for Leave and I was excited about the future with Mr Johnson but Mr Cummings has broken the rules whilst my family didn't We were broken by Covid-19 but we stuck to the rules for the good of everyone. He must go

I cannot imagine you’re going to find many cases of this happening at all. Fines weren’t issued just because people were caught driving on non essential journeys first time round. It’s a gotcha question designed to humiliate Matt Hancock that’s all

He said he’d look at it, they did and decided not to go with it. Not really a story is it.

What should happen then is: 1) Cummings did nothing wrong - so end of 2) He should be fined like the public - end of 3) should be sacked - so should the public that broke rules like going to beaches You know since there shouldn't be different rule for us and them

So that didn’t last long. Cummings publicly now humiliated MattHancock. Hancocks capacity for humiliation is superhuman. His greed and ambition must be extraordinary to have so little regard for being savaged by a man who hates him. Stockholm syndrome?

5 seconds consideration more than enough. Sky pilot whose whole life is based on fantasy needs to keep his beak out

Correction. No fines were issued to families genuinely travelling to get childcare. Where’s the proof? Silly question by Rev. to creat more hostility toward DC & Govt. Shame on the Rev. and skynews broadcasting utter rubbish. Who holds the media to account? I’m disgusted.

Who is the Vicar. Come on SKY name him. Vicar is in the Closet.

Is this fucking news. Promising a Vicar.... Can you gaurantee that was a promise.🤔 The Vicar will pray for SKY and BBC.

Double standards!!!!!

Eyesight issues 🤔

Well fk it guess I just make a judgment call ( just like the Cummings Fella) for whatever I do and nobody can do anything about it. BBCNews

Given the amount of media coverage, anyone that has been fined for breaching the rules for childcare would surely be headline news for every media channel. I wonder how many people have been stopped and told it’s okay for genuine child concerns, your journey is fine.
