Researchers find that the number of people with antibodies in their study fell by 26% since lockdown measures were relaxed.

Dr Alexander Edwards, associate professor in biomedical technology at the University of Reading, said:"What is not clear is how quickly antibody levels would rise again if a person encounters the virus a second time.

"So even if the rapid antibody test is no longer positive, the person may still be protected from re-infection."It is possible that another arm of the immune system called T-cells, may remain active, but there is currently no available test for them. They say immunisations may lead to a more robust antibody response.

Yeah. let's believe this weasel

This is so incredibly wrong and completely disregards t-cells.

BS..NEWSFLASH NO ONE KNOWS WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON OR WHAT WORKS..?’ Cuz if Masks Really worked. We wouldnt still be ALL WEARING THEM AFTER 8 months. HerdImmunity is NATURES WAY, something YOU ALL CAN NOT FIGHT ,the the only thing thats FREE & SIMPLE.,VACCINE BUISNESS $$$$$

Antibodies fall after doing their job, just like with every virus. The T cells take over long term.

The media is lies. Only accept truth from people in the position to inform you rather than those intending to control you. Countless medical professionals have been removed from positions or forced to obide in fear of losing their jobs. Inform yourself or sleepwalk into crisis.

And so the lies continue from a once respected news channel 👍🏻

Are u lying on purpose or is this just more of your incompetent 'journalism' from a position of total ignorance? The immune system is FAR MORE complex than just a measure of antibodies I'm quite sure this is a propaganda piece. Remove it, or it will be held against you in court

scummedia

Imperial College 🤡

apoorva_nyc Any expert reactions on if we should apply the same logic to this study as the one's showing similar this summer (antibodies wane but expected, immune system more complex than indicated), or is it more worrisome for herd immunity prospects?

florian_krammer Professor Krammer - should we apply the same logic to this study as the one's showing similar this summer (antibodies wane but expected, immune system more complex than indicated), or is it more worrisome for herd immunity prospects?

Which they won’t do with repeated exposure. But all the time you implement social distancing, various grades of isolation and obsessive hygiene you will never get that.

More fake bullshit

And how would a vaccine be any different?

So then there's no point in a vaccine then? Watch as this story quickly disappears.

Did they test the same people twice months apart or just a new sample of 0.5% of the population ?

if that's the case no need for a vaccine then. vaccines work on immunity

More bullshit from the the shitspreaders

So tedious

Cornedbeefpyatt more headline scaremongering. The article basically describes itself how this isn’t the full picture but the headline will do to scare. 🤦‍♂️

Well what a surprise...maybe this will shut some of the COVIDIOTS up on here that think herd immunity is the way to go..killing thousands and thousands..not enough known about this virus yet,and more evidence now post covid symptoms causing a problem

You guys do everything you can to stop alternatives to locking us up. It's a disgrace! We all know that immunity is pretty much a given in every other ailment. You expect us to believe suddenly this virus is any different! Stop the bulls*it!

'It is possible they will still rapidly respond, and either have a milder illness, or remain protected through immune memory. 'So even if the rapid antibody test is no longer positive, the person may still be protected from re-infection.'

ZenMezzer Scaremongering at it best once again!

So, pretty much similar to flu then ? Catch that and your not immune for long , hence yearly vaccine jabs.

So why aren’t we all dead from the Spanish Flu, because there’s never been a cure or vaccine it’s still floating around 🤷‍♀️

As applauded as a cure by Johnson and Trump in the early days of this crisis! Thankfully they never got their way with this. We would have had millions dead! JohnsonHasFailedTheNation JohnsonMustGo

More government propaganda.

My workmate had a positive anti body test after 8 months so can anyone explain this please

But the vaccines are free 🤗 NOTHING IS FREE!

T cells muppets

Then how’s a vaccine going to work?

scaremongering for the millionth time during the pandemic - when are you going to take social responsibility and have a headline that actually reflects the content and context of the article 😟

SO WHOLE POPULATION NEEDS REGULAR JABS ..AND WE WILL.ALL.TAKE THEM.WILLINGLY ...

T cells?

What an amazing virus it doesn't follow any rules

Due to pointless lockdowns

So whats the point of a vaccine?

Yet a vaccine is expected to work?

T cells

It was always likely given how other coronaviruses operate. HerdImmunity was a fanciful notion that killed thousands. JohnsonHasFailedTheNation

Of course it does 😂😂😂😂😂😂

So we all just hide indoors until we die of boredom or old age?

How does this mean there can't be herd immunity? You do realise there are things called T Cells don't you? Awful journalism, clickbait fearmongering, with the emphasis firmly on mong

Just here for all the people who’ve suddenly gained a PhD in immunology, virology and have ten years lab experience all since March.

But Sweden was supposed to be doing so well.

So we gotta learn to live with it then 👍🏻 As stated a million times.

Why is COVID19 not ravaging africa especially Nigeria ?I think GileadSciences ChinaScience PopSci NYTScience ISS_CASIS ScienceNews should research & come up with hypotheses on why this is so.They should check if Immunity can be found in the cells of blacks in africa

I can’t believe for one minute that immunity would be down to antibodies alone. It’s been well known for months antibodies don’t last for long. What about T cells etc etc. Way more to it!

Yet another reminder that we must fear the Rona.

Really? I know someone that had it in March and tested positive for it again in October, had a retest and it turns out the test picked up the antibodies.

David Icke’s foil hat army incoming...

sad

Herd immunity was always a mass death plan anyway.

Old story known since 1st wave. Natural antibodies don't last beyond a month or so. All medical scientists have said that yet the illiterate govts of Western countries consider it proper to argue with professionals who know their job. Longterm immunity expected only from vaccine.

COVID is here to stay

Still count me out when it comes to getting vaccination

You will get immunity eventually most people already have immunity to it

Coronavirus: Quarantine for COVID contacts could be cut to seven days amid Test and Trace concernsThe move comes amid growing dissatisfaction with the performance of the system from ministers and MPs. Sounds good really seeing as someone isn't supposedly infectious after about day 7. Even if they have symptoms. How about this .... do one of these super perfect inflatable tests on close contacts then release or isolate.. don’t give me that can’t detect for 4 days rubbish.. if you can’t detect then they can’t be infecting people ffs 🥱🥱🥱 Moving the goalposts again because they have no authority ,respect or a grip on the pandemic .
