Coleraine edge closer to securing a top six place in the Premiership despite being held to a draw by Dungannon Swifts as Glentoran ease past Ballymena United.

Coleraine edged closer to securing a top-six spot in the Irish Premiership ahead of the forthcoming league split despite being held to a 1-1 draw by Dungannon Swifts at Ballycastle Road.

Lowry was dismissed by referee Raymond Crangle on 32 minutes when he was involved in an off-the-ball incident with James Knowles in the centre circle and was immediately shown a red card by the official. Carson, who scored from the spot against Crusaders last week, accepted the responsibility but saw his effort well saved by Dunne low to his left.

Ballymena's hopes of getting anything from the game took another blow four minutes into the second period as Mikey Place was shown a straight red card after catching Fuad Sule high with his follow-through. Kennedy would make no mistake heading past a helpless Conor Mitchell to secure a well-deserved lead for the visitors.
