Charlton Athletic and Oxford United race to sign Matt Godden

Charlton Athletic and Oxford United are battling it out to sign Coventry City striker Matt Godden,Godden is set to leave the CBS Arena this summer and sources say a deal should be completed as early as next week as clubs race to secure his signature.

Interest from Oxford has emerged following their promotion to the Championship as they look to bring in an experienced option to help them adapt to the new level.Birmingham City have agreed a deal to sign star striker Alfie May.Godden signed for Coventry in 2019 and has since gone on to make 156 appearances for the club, scoring 50 goals and providing 11 assists.
