Leeds United's August challenge will be a lot clearer next week when they find out not only their EFL Championship schedule but their Carabao Cup first-round opponents.
However, they won't have to wait long for their first slice of cup action, with the first round of the Carabao Cup taking place in the week commencing August 12. Leeds will be one of 70 clubs in the draw, with relegated sides Luton Town and Burnley joining the 13 Premier League teams not in European competition in the second round.
Last season, Leeds had to come from behind to beat Shrewsbury Town in round one, before losing to League Two Salford on penalties in the second round, Pascal Struijk on target in both games for Daniel Farke's side.
