coronavirus transformed Ivy League schools into University of Phoenix :-)

But children being told to go back to school in 11 days time? Doesn’t make sense does it (the kids bit)...

students having to pay full fees for an online education with zero access to facilities is disgusting when online university is a fraction of the price, and we’re all being forced into that. lower the fees before students start deferring a year

I can already sense the incoming rampant plagiarism

Wasn't expecting less. What about the tuition fees?

Won't be nice for the students. They'll miss out on the whole student experience. Sitting in a bedroom with a laptop is not the same as actually being in a lecture hall. If social activities are also limited what will that do for the students?

If only the hospitals had thought to go online only.

I wonder what platform Cambridge_Uni will use for this. It must be more than a toss up of Microsoft Teams, Google Meet and Zoom.

If libraries are shut and small group teaching not guaranteed, should Cambridge suspend its rules on residence for next year, so students are spared the costs of a year's accommodation?

And all “low skilled” staff will be made redundant

I wonder what will happen to yours? shannoliviab

So will Halls of Residence close too? What will students get for their £9,000 a year? Last term ended abruptly & strikes meant many lectures were cancelled no refund?

The U.K. has turned into a giant nanny-state blancmange-eating nonsense. There's four months to go and most universities around the world will be open in October. I can't believe how so many people have been suckered into this government's dreadful decision-making spin.

Mmmm... will students still have to pay full fees?

The new normal. Online Education must be Equitable/Accessible/Inclusive for all socio-economic strata. This is the key factor for policy makers to consider, in ALL countries

Will Keir_Starmer on hearing that - Cambridge_Uni are moving all “face-to-face lectures” online for the full 2020-21 academic year & adding 'it was “likely” social distancing would continue to be required.' - ask BorisJohnson at PMQs if he will now u-turn on schoolsreopening?

certain demands faculty, students, the ministry leaders can work on making this the best experience and education possible. Spending time speculating wastes time that could be used to prepare and adapt.

Hehe, chicken, many universities in Europe have already allowed back lectures on campus by now.

Get back to work or refund these students

Be difficult for lefty brainwashing, good

Coronavirus: 'Campus experience' on hold as Cambridge moves lectures online for next academic yearA recent report suggested UK universities could lose more than £2bn because of coronavirus. ReformedMr Not true that ‘campus experience on hold’. Large group lectures online where social distancing impossible but small group teaching and supervisions in person are all still being planned. We’re looking forward to giving students as full a Cambridge experience as poss next term. Bet they will still charge £9000/year.
