A recent report suggested UK universities could lose more than £2bn because of coronavirus.

The pandemic has already forced university campuses to close this term and all teaching at the site was moved online in March, while exams are being carried out virtually. Universities can charge full fees even if courses are taught online.

But Nicola Dandridge of the Office for Students warned against misleading promises about a"campus experience" if courses are to be taught online. If prospective students decide that what they get in terms of education and lifestyle for the 2020/21 academic year is not worth the money, it could have serious consequences for university finances, as well as increasing pressure on admissions for the following year., commissioned by the University and College Union, suggested that the increased deferral rate and lack of foreign students caused by the coronavirus crisis could see 232,000 fewer students enrolling in 2020/21 compared to 2018/19.

Hope they're not charging full fees

*to prevent loss of income from lucrative international students unable / unwilling to travel yet.

Bet they will still charge £9000/year.

Not true that ‘campus experience on hold’. Large group lectures online where social distancing impossible but small group teaching and supervisions in person are all still being planned. We’re looking forward to giving students as full a Cambridge experience as poss next term.
