With the glorious weather in-store over the weekend, it's the perfect time to head to the many brilliant beaches Britain has to offer. There's nothing better than a day out at the seaside, the smell of the sea air, plethora of fish and chip shops and slot machines.
Rottingdean in East Sussex is perhaps more palatable for a weekend away, or even a day trip if you can handle the return journey in one day. This beach is on the quiet stretch of coast between Brighton and Newhaven, which you can walk to from Brighton along the promenade that stretches to the East.The sheer chalk cliffs stand at its back with the pebbly beach feeling lovely and secluded.
This beach has loads of opportunities for rock pooling, paddling and searching for fossils and is lesser known than many of its Kent neighbours making it a great spot. The walk down to the beach from the cliff-top parking spots is said to be one of its charms, but perhaps not if you're carrying a toddler and several bags.
