‘At one point, I thought I was dead'

A 17-year old boy has survived a rare Covid-related syndrome that affects mostly children that ended up giving him heart failure.

‘I was laying there and it felt like I was falling,’ Zechariah said. ‘At one point, I thought I was dead.’He said he was vomiting, had constant diarrhea and a fever of 103 degrees, while also suffering from heart failure. Doctors told Zechariah that he was suffering from Multi Inflammatory Syndrome, also known as MIS-C, which is found in children under the age 18, usually over two-and-a-half weeks after they initially become infected with Covid.His mother said that she had a gut feeling that something ‘really wasn’t right’ with her son.
