The prime minister will be back in the North of England and will pledge to back the Sheffield City Region Deal.

He will also back talks for a similar deal with Leeds and West Yorkshire and announce plans for a new Northern Powerhouse growth body to work with government minister Jake Berry, a close ally of the PM.

The PM will claim one of his top domestic priorities will be to give more powers to local leaders to ensure communities are in control of transport, infrastructure and housing. "No one is going to be fooled by this whistle stop tour and cheap speech when every day, people are living with the consequences of a decade of austerity and cuts to public services," said Labour's shadow communities secretary Andrew Gwynne, a close ally of Jeremy Corbyn.

"Whatever happens with Brexit, the government need to be working constructively with northern leaders. We are the people who know our communities, our opportunities and our challenges best." "If the North is to take back control it must be the Northern Powerhouse that shapes its own destiny. However much we trust Jake Berry MP as our voice at the cabinet table, relying on Whitehall to back us and our plans to rebalance the country is not enough."

Yeh yeh yeh dictator on tour

Liar and desperado

Come to the Midlands and spout your garbage BorisJohnson - you’ve already got the disillusioned North in your pocket.

Sheffield? North? It’s a good 2 1/2 hours from Newcastle. Can we stop talking about this as the north and forgetting the towns and cities north of where London loses interest?

What parts are going to be devolved? We've already had several carve ups with bits of one county being shoved into another. When we leave the EU, do we still need their 'regions' for England? Some people were put in the Midlands and they still don't see themselves as Midlanders.

Wee jimmy will love that!

PM. did you lie to the Queen “absolutely not” 😌😌😌

Boris Johnson avoids MP questions about misleading Queen to appear on FacebookPrime minister was due to face up to two and a half hours of MPs' questions if parliament had not been suspended Proroguing (new word for me so just getting used to it), should be done with agreement from parliament. That said,BorisJohnson states it’s to prepare queen speech. However government is still fully functioning but now unaccountable. It should only be preparing the speech Ever since Johnson was put up for the Tory leadership he has been deliberately AVOIDING any serious scutiny/questioning of his plans, objectives & policies. As PM he's redoubled his efforts to avoid any independent media interviews - prorogation is just another form of avoidance.
