UK PM Boris Johnson says fifty migrants told they will be sent to Rwanda

Aid agencies have reported several asylum seekers in the UK going into hiding because of fears they would be sent to Rwanda.

Small boat crossings have continued, however. The latest available government figures show 792 migrants arrived in small boats in the week from 2 to 8 May. In his interview, Mr Johnson said 50 "notices of intent" have now been issued. This marks the first stage of the process. It is widely expected there will be legal challenges to the plans. Home Secretary Priti Patel has said that would mean the process would "take time" but insisted she would not be deterred.

The new policy follows a drastic rise in the number of small boat crossings across the English Channel, with more than 6,000 people crossing so far this year.Channel migrants tragedy: Terrifying final hours of their fatal journey

Immigrants have been having freebies for a long time.

Disgusting. Hope this is his undoing, along with Patel.

Use the same plan the 15k from Afghanistan used. Stop them using some kind of victim card; they were not victims in the EU. Pathetic. Should tell them as they land in Rwanda. TBF.

BBC ‘there has been a lot of opposition‘. Zero mention of there has been a lot of praise. As usual they seek to amplify the voice of the left and far left, whilst ignoring everyone else. DefundTheBBC

Send BorisJohnson to Rwanda & keep the immigrants in the United Kingdom.

NATIONAL DISGRACE

Good start, but shouldn't there be three more 0 behind the 50

Vladimir Putin showing ‘barbaric aggression’ against Ukraine, Boris Johnson saysBoris Johnson has suggested that Vladimir Putin is showing 'barbaric aggression' in Ukraine, as he once again condemned the war. However, the prime minister refused to draw direct comparison between the Russian president and historical dictators, Adolf Hitler and Josef Stalin. “Leaving aside the historical parallels, you've just got to see what he's doing in Ukraine,” Mr Johnson said. “This is an act of absolutely barbaric aggression against a country that has literally done nothing to offend him, done nothing wrong.”Click here to sign up for our newsletters.
