Biles, 24, is considered one of the greatest gymnasts of all time, having won four Olympic gold medals and 19 World Championship titles. She has also been praised for talking about her mental health struggles.
"I want to take this moment to thank my team-mates, my friends, and my family, who gave me - and continue to give me - so much love and strength. She grew up in Texas, and was introduced to gymnastics at the age of six on a field trip, starting her elite career eight years later in 2011. But after suffering the 'twisties' she withdrew from five of her six finals, though still won team silver and individual beam bronze.
A load of BBC wokist bollocks!
Why did she get this? Why is it deserved?
🐐
On what basis? She’s 24. That is not a ‘lifetime’. Who are the people who have decided this? On what criteria? Justify your award.
Hardly seems honour; but the BBC have a very low bar. It also seems very predictable today. While we are force to pay for the licence. And the least worthy award goes to...... else they will get some useless judge to rule in their favour; li8ke they have been bribed.
👏👏👍
I've been doing my job for 30 years. Don't suppose I could get one of those? Probably not. I didn't quit when the going got tough. I think they should rename it the 'Bleeding Heart' award in this instance.
Sorry never heard of her😳. Justice for Trotty👊
So the more you throw your toys out the pram the more you are rewarded, a knighthood even.
And here comes twitter....
Isn’t it a bit mad to get a lifetime achievement award when your 24?
