F1 world champion Max Verstappen was in attendance at the FIA's prize-giving gala in Paris
Asked to clarify whether he was saying Hamilton would be penalised for not attending the gala, he said: "Forgiveness is always there. But rules are rules. when it came to the operation of a late safety-car period, resulting in the championship changing hands from Hamilton to Red Bull's Max Verstappen on the last lap of the race.Wolff has accused Masi of "a freestyle reading of the rules and it left Lewis like a sitting duck", and of "robbing" Hamilton of the title. He added that Mercedes would "hold the FIA accountable" for the controversy.
"We have to be proactive. We have to improve in every aspect. As a driver, I would be so upset for a while but time is a fact that will cool."

If the FIA do fine Lewis, pay the the fine but do it in cash and in penny’s (or the lowest denomination you can find) have it delivered to the FIA HQ in Paris. ( Interpretation of the rules right? Nobody said how You had to pay?)

I’m trying to get my head around this. He was winning ( I think) so FIA change the rules on the last lap…so he loses…& now FIA want him to attend an awards ceremony that they fixed. What was it they disliked? His 8 times Champion, his colour, his choice of team? Confused.

Mohammed Ben Sulayem was a mediocre Rally Driver who took part in 18 rallies compiling a grand total of 12 points.. First Arab to be appointed to FIA as VP, and now that Mr Ferrari has left, because of 3 terms, Ben Sulayem takes the reins. Looks like he feels he's in charge.
