Ms Nandy was pressed by Sky's Sophy Ridge about what the Labour leader should do if found to have broken the rules - while the Tories accused their opponents of 'rank double standards'.

Ms Nandy said that could not be equated with the Labour leader's"work visit with planned breaks to eat".Ms Nandy declined to say whether Sir Keir should resign if he is found by police to have broken the rules.Pic: The Mail On Sunday

But Dominic Raab, the deputy prime minister, told Sky News:"It's the rank double standards that drive people crazy."The comments came after the memo obtained by the Mail on Sunday indicated the dinner had been listed on the schedule for a day in April 2021 during the local election and Hartlepool by-election campaign.

A note indicated a member of staff in Sir Keir's office was to arrange a takeaway from the Spice Lounge.

No, it was against the rules to gather indoors during this time no matter who it was with. But hey let’s not say all the facts this is Labour after all 😂 but ultimately why did they lie

Lisa is a liar 🤥

Johnson and Starmer should be no where near being leaders of both parties. If cheese and wine is classed as a party, then what would you call beer and a curry?

First rule of holes. When you are in stop digging.

Unless it’s Boris then it’s totally illegal as labour have been telling us for months

It was, however, illegal for more than 2 campaigners to meet indoors. Lie upon lie upon lie, while lecturing others sanctimoniously about 'decency' - when will Labour ever learn?

The Labour Party under Starmer which has come up with one idea in over 2 years. This following a pandemic and cost of living crisis. If the Tories are out of ideas, at least they had a few to start with.

Was she there so she knows what went off or is she assuming? That’s the question

Can I help

SkyNew: Keir Starmer sets the rules with Partygate for the Prime Minister and it is for him also, resign if guilty. We see him at the window glass in hand and now even a curry mentioned and Angela Rayner was there also. Durham Police little to go on, perhaps!

How come you’re not reporting this?! 🚨

OMG let's get over this we all know when MP's are lying there lips are moving. It's all game playing how the leaks happen 🤬

Yep

BREAKING NEWS: new Government advice to the elderly ; eat Curry’s to keep warm, PM Boris claiming he’d thought of it first !!!!

I think if cases full of beer had been smuggled into 10 DOWNING STREET we’d have a problem. Otherwise, my taxes and cost of living are going through the roof under Conservatives

So true

Just go.

Leetha he broke the law

Labour hypocrisy and police cover ups.

Neither should resign. They just need to stop playing silly games and work together for once!

Exception 20: campaigning (29) Exception 20 is that— (c)the gathering is reasonably necessary for the purposes of campaigning in an election or a referendum held in accordance with provision made by or under an Act.

The Health Protection (Coronavirus, Restrictions) (Steps) (England) Regulations 2021 Exception 3: gatherings necessary for certain purposes (6) Exception 3 is that the gathering is reasonably necessary— (a)for work purposes or for the provision of voluntary or charitable services

Why would she when she had already made it quite clear that she didn’t think he had and that bullshitgate is the result of desperate Tory smears.

If they don't answer the question, it gets a headline, if they do answer the headline it gets a story. This one beer is starting to get more headlines than the approx dozen parties held at No10. I wonder what the ratio of beer to column inches Vs wine to column inches is 🤔

One rule for the lefties...

Johnstone, sunak, starmer,Rayner should all go if fine imposed. Then country can move on.

Rayners home

Hypocrites everywhere, this is why you never trust a politician no matter what team they play for

This is all nonsense and will be proven so. Anyone who works with politicians like I do know during an election campaign that they talk about nothing else so no doubt they continued working through and after the food. It’s farcical! No comparison to what the 🤡 has done.

Who’s the peeping Tom?

Since being bought by left loving Democrat donors Comcast, Sky News has fast become the propaganda outlet for the Labour Party

Have you watched the video? It looks like he’s also keeping a distance between himself and others.

Well she has to tow the parry line 🙄

Whats the saying,.....better to be hung for a sheep than a lambs.... They betrayed the same British public, as they try and squirm out of something THEY created and set the precedence for......

He must have known that after attacking Boris Johnson for months over cake gate that party gate would also be heavily scrutinised. Labours advisors have completely messed this up for Sir Keir and Angela.

There are beer bottles in the room. One even in Keir Starmer’s hand. Lucky them if they can WORK at the same time as downing a bottle (or more) of beer. Doctors, nurses, teachers, care givers, ambulance drivers, police etc CAN NOT ! 😡😡😡😡😡

Amazing the amount of time Sky is spending on this compared to the multiple breaches at No.10. Anyone would think that there’s a motive behind your coverage

Keith’s rapacious curry hunger has become the story, such a distraction means labour can’t effectively fight the Tories and it’s time for him to apologise and resign.

Keir Starmer's Beergate story is blown apart by leaked Labour memoAn operational note drawn up ahead of Sir Keir's notorious visit to Durham, where he was filmed enjoying a late-night beer with activists, reveals the gathering had been planned in advance. We were not meant to LABOUR! We were meant ro Eat, Drink and be MERRY! NEW World is Near! We All TOGETHER Again, ETERNALLY! MaliBONGWE! And of course IF Keir_Starmer DOES recieve a FPN and resigns, you will be calling for BorisJohnson to resign. I am sure toryboypierce is already with the pike to put Johnson's head on it......NOT I’m pretty sure that diarising a break for a meal isn’t the smoking gun you think it is. I can see no mention of bring a bottle, Abba-themed party, karaoke or having to buy a fridge to cope with the volume of booze.

Labour denies leaked memo shows Starmer broke lockdown rulesTories argue document published in Mail on Sunday proves Labour leader is guilty of ‘rank double standards’ Desperate tactical move from the Tories very much sounds like ToriesOutNow 1. What was written may not be what happened. 2. No more scheduled meetings does not mean work stopped. 3. The meal itself, with campaigning colleagues, counts as work. 4. The meal was the only way to eat, so reasonably necessary. The rules permitted exactly what happened. BorisJohnson You must be happy?
