In her latest novel, Miss Austen, Gill Hornby imagines the complex relationship and lives of these two sisters and the events that motivated the editing and rewriting of Jane’s history.

Politicians , buy their offices, never earn them.... The culprit is not gender. Women shoot themselves in the foot when they choose a male candidate over their own.
