The new unemployment figures are out today – but what do we know about the jobs women have lost, the jobs they’re doing and what they get paid? realVickyPryce and kategobell discuss: 📻

New unemployment figures are released today. We look behind the numbers and ask what sorts of jobs women are losing. The Office for National Statistics release new unemployment figures today. We look behind the numbers and ask what sorts of jobs women are losing and what’s being done to save them.

Do you know what “modest fashion” is? It’s about wearing less revealing clothes, and if you’ve a religious faith which emphasises modesty, it’s a style which allows you to do just that and look great. Well-known high-street shops and on-line brands sell clothes under this banner, appealing to a more diverse range of customers.

When you look back over your relationships do you see patterns? Our reporter Milly Chowles does and she wants to understand why this might be. In a new series about toxic relationships she talks to four women who have broken free. Today, a woman we are calling Nina who was drawn to bad boys. Writer Kate Murphy claims that as a society we’ve forgotten how to listen. She joins Jane to talk about what stops us & to argue the case for better listening.

GillHornby A final, deathbed request?

Milly_on_Air But that is the kind of men she sought out , the nice guys she met she friend zoned, she just wanted the really good looking bad boys and to them she was just pump and dump she crafted her own downfall

Milly_on_Air One damaged woman, so many damaging men. The ratio is telling.

Ironic that you’d have to listen to this to learn to listen.

What is modest fashion? It's victim-blaming, repressive authoritarian nonsense, unless of course...

I would like to know the answer to this. I saw a lady on projectrunway creating modest clothing. Despite it covering the body, it was often closefitting as were here own clothes. What is considered modest?

Maybe all the BBC radio 4 presenters need to go on a course because they don't really listen. News reporters are the worst. But it might help if they had more non white and working class presenters - never happen but they give lip service to diversity until you check the figures!
