My mother died of cancer because doctors failed to detect it early. They actually sent her home one day saying she had arthritis when she had lung cancer. Early detection is vital and it's sad we lag behind other nations in this respect.

Cancer 'survival rates' is a term used to say you survived for 5 years and is considered a 'cure'!
