As footballers we are very privileged to do what we do in this country and we never forget that. The money we earn is well-documented but the majority of professionals are from working-class backgrounds and, whatever successes we enjoy, we are still anchored by the social conscience formed by our surroundings.
Here's a novel idea: do some charitable work or make a donation anonymously. No credit. No publicity. No agenda.
Footballer’s wealth may be called out, because although rich they do not belong to the ruling caste. MPs on the other hand although common in many cases are necessary rubber stampers & court jesters. It would upset the caste if they make waves or appear in rags.
