It is one of the best places in the world to be a woman, with a narrow gender pay gap, equal employment rights, universal nursery care, and some of the happiest female retirees on the planet.
Only journalist with balls these days is a woman -
I'm masculin living in DK, and I can honestly say that the women here are among the most feministic. But there is also equality 🤘🏼-However it's not enough and feminists are still pushing forward. We need more testicles here.
Wait.... it’s not America? I need to learn so much more
Bad headline. Try: Denmark Has Fewest Self-Identified Feminists “A poll of more than 25,000 people in 23 major countries found that just one in six Danes consider themselves a feminist”
Danes prefer prettier women 🇩🇰👍🏼
Could there be a link I wonder....;)
Good for them. Happiest nation in the world.
To everyone in the comments who has never been to denmark and makes it out as some sort of safe haven where women don't get harrassed: do your research. SofieHagen has been talking about this a lot. The current legislation in denmark is conservative and equality is 100% utopia.
People are tired of labels and being labeled
Read the article first before commenting. It's not because feminism is unpopular because Denmark is some sort of equality Utopia or because it's deemed unnecessary. It's because Denmark are years behind in their attitudes to feminism.
Wtf, “You can grab a woman, but so long as you did it because it was ‘fun’.
That is not because feminism is not needed in Denmark. It's because being a feminist or identifying as a feminist in Denmark is rather risky. Danish women are the most harrassed women in the EU, and the Danish job market is one of the most gender segregated in the world.
Maybe Danish society is built on equality?
The fundament of feminism is eqaulity of both gender, and sometimes it seems to speak for women just because currently women are treated less equally. If feminism is felt not needed, that means both genders are being treated equally so there's no need to speak for neither gender.
Probably because they don't need it.
It means they have brought up their men very well. Imagine in a country when women are not harassed because they are cat-called, coz their men are not doing it.
Maybe that explains why the bloke in the Carlsberg ad is so attractive. If Carlsberg did alpha males...
Labels are outdated and misleading. Every movement, including feminism, is hijacked by people you don't want to be associated with sooner or later. You can be a 'feminist' but still reject intersectionality, be anti-lgbt, etc. The word itself doesn't seem to mean much anymore.
What matters is the individual's thoughts and mindset about equality, not the whole country being most or least feminist.
Good for them.
You make it sound as if there is something wrong with them? Maybe women are actually more emancipated there? Or they're too busy doing actual things to improve things for women? I dunno, i could be wrong (who knows?) 🤔
Well they are also one of the happiest and one of the most economically equal so I'm not sure what that says.
