He said: “I think you’ll find come the next election the British public are a lot smarter than you think.'

Line of Duty actor Adrian Dunbar has referred to the Conservative government as ‘shoddy’ and said the public should ‘get rid of them’ at the next general election.

“I think there’s a paucity of leadership in the country at the moment, I think they’re a shoddy bunch of people and we should get rid of them," he said. Appearing on the show to promote his new role as Ridley in the ITV drama, Dunbar also fielded questions about if and when there would be a new series of Line of Duty.
