The platform screen doors on the eastbound side of Jurong East MRT station were unable to close for 10 minutes due to a technical fault on 17 February at about 7.30pm.

He said the train doors opened and closed three times before they remained closed for some time. The train did not move. "After several minutes, there was a train announcement that there would be a delay as the station platform doors were faulty and unable to close.

He was surprised when the train started moving again and shared a video taken from inside the train as it departed the station with the platform screen doors still open. "Previously, I have seen a faulty platform screen door that was barricaded with signage to say the door was faulty and please use another platform screen door."
