A resident was concerned when he saw workers rappelling down an HDB block at Boon Lay Drive for painting works."They have started painting works again after the freak accident where the gondola was left hanging," he said.

"When I see it, I feel very nervous for them as they are using only ropes and harnesses with no protection below. "I just want to share this and maybe let the residents there give them some moral support as it is not easy.In response to a Stomp query, a West Coast Town Council spokesperson said:"Following the recent gondola incident, all Repair and Redecoration works were temporarily suspended. The investigation has since been completed.

"R&R works resumed on Sept 18 after we have received approval from the relevant authorities to proceed."We wish to assure all that the workers involved in the repainting works are trained and have completed the required safety courses.
