LESCO Anti-Power Theft Operation: 213 Illegal Connections Disconnected, 26 Persons Arrested

Anti power theft operations continue in the Lahore electric supply company region. On the 51st day, LESCO along with law enforcement agencies found 213 connections being used for electricity theft and 26 suspects have been arrested.

All 213 connections have been disconnected and 138 firs have been registered. One industrial, five commercial and 207 domestic were among the connections. Those involved have been charged 12.7 million rupees. Uptill now 21,677 connections have been found involved in power theft and disconnected. A total of 20,695 firs have been registered, 10,160 suspects have been arrested and 1.84 billion rupees have been charged to those involved in power theft in the LESCO region which includes Lahore, Sheikhupura, Kasur, Nankana Sahib and Okara.

LESCO has also arrested nine of its employees and suspended 41 others who were complicit in power theft.
