President Duterte has signed a law providing honorarium and other benefits, including class exemptions and health insurance, to the members of the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK). READ:

President Duterte has signed a law providing honorarium and other benefits, including class exemptions and health insurance, to the members of the Sangguniang Kabataan .

Local government units may also provide additional honorarium as well as social welfare contributions and hazard pay to their SK chairperson and appointed members through local ordinance. The law also said SK members are exempted from taking any components of the National Service Training Program and can be excused from attending their regular classes, if they go to school, while attending their regular or special SK meetings and sessions.

The law further stated that SK members shall be provided with state-run Philippine Health Insurance coverage and entitled to the appropriate Civil Service Commission eligibility based on their years of service.
