The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and GMA Network acknowledged Barangay Ginebra point guard Scottie Thompson on Sunday, October 29, at FilOil Ecooil Centre in San Juan City for his contributions to the Gilas Pilipinas national men's basketball team that won the gold medal in recently-concluded 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China.

The plaque of recognition was signed by GMA chairman and CEO Felipe Gozon, head of GMA Integrated News Oliver Victor Amoroso, NCAA Season 99 Management Committee chairman Efren Jose Supan and NCAA Season 99 Policy Board president Dr. Vincent Fabella.

Dax Castellano of St. Benilde, Paul Supan of Jose Rizal University, Hercules Callanta of Lyceum and Frank Gusi of University of Perpetual Help presented the citation to the reigning PBA Most Valuable Player.Thompson played for the Perpetual Help Altas during his NCAA days.
