Philippines,Brahmos Missile System,Supersonic Age

The Philippines is set to receive the BrahMos missile system by early 2024, marking its entry into the 'supersonic age'. The ground system is expected to arrive in February, followed by the missiles in March. This delivery raises questions about Philippine defenses and India's role in the region's security.

The Philippines expects the ground system to arrive by early February and the missiles themselves by March 2024. Before the first quarter of 2024 ends, the Philippines will finally enter the “ supersonic age ,” said National Security Council (NSC) spokesperson Jonathan Malaya.

The Philippines is set to receive three batteries of the coastal defense missile system. But what does the delivery mean for Philippine defenses, and India’s place in the region’s defense and security puzzle?
