Despite the lack of an 11-seater variant at the Kia Carnival’s launch, Mr. Aligada is confident in the market performance of the more upscale “Grand Utility Vehicle.” Citing their internal focused group studies as well as initial customer feedback, they’re confident that they’re hitting the right target market with the right set of features.
Moreover, based on the sales of the previous third-generation Grand Carnival, the uptake of the sole 7-seater already makes up 50 percent of sales. From annual sales reaching 251 units last year , Kia says they’re targeting annual sales of around 400 units this year. Aligada has confirmed that two all-new models will join the Kia line-up this year, and one of these is likely the all-new Sportage .
New products aside, Kia Philippines will also be expanding its dealer network. In 2021, that number stood at 39 dealers, and by the end of 2022, they’re hoping to grow that to 46 dealers with seven new locations opening this year. By the end of 2023, they’ll add four more to even things out to 50. In order to ensure better and more consistent aftersales service across their growing dealer network, Kia Philippines is continuing its customer-centric mindset by elevating its touchpoints to align with the new global identity, ensure the immediate availability of spare parts at competitive prices, and through continued personnel training in both sales and aftersales.
