To be effective life coaches of learners at home, the Department of Education MIMAROPA Region trained about 691 education stakeholders in Palawan.Through the Curriculum and Learning Management Division , parents, guardians, Parent-Teacher Association Officials, and teachers from Schools Divisions of Palawan, Puerto Princesa City, and Calapan City were trained through a webinar to be effective life coaches of students while they study at home.

Through the webinar, DepEd hoped to help significant adults at home identify some practical strategies in making their homes a haven for teaching and learning activities. “We can only do so much, but with your help dear parents, teachers, PTA officials, and community leaders, we can build a castle for your children,” he said.

Nice call from DepEd. But I guess, the best thing DepEd could do amidst this pandemic is to acknowledge the plights of the teachers and not to be dismissive of their calls.
