THE Bureau of Customs has donated more than 700 seized and forfeited vehicles to various government agencies to enhance their mobility and save millions of pesos in procurement costs for the government.

Of the number, 120 units went to the PNP, 60 to the AFP while five units were donated to the PSG. The remaining 573 units were to be donated to other government agencies. It was not clear, however, if the vehicles were still in tip-top shape considering that they had been left open to elements for years at the compound of the Cagayan Economic Zone Authority .

These vehicles were seized for violation of Executive Order 156 which bans the importation of used cars.
