The Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development of the Department of Science and Technology is committed to support the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals of Zero Hunger, Life below Water, and Life on Land through facilitating the establishment of 20 Research and Development Centers or Niche Centers in the Regions or NICER.
DOST-PCAARRD Executive Director Dr. Reynaldo V. Ebora said as of 2021, they have established 20 NICERs in 16 regions covering 18 commodities. The DOST-PCAARRD said the establishment of the NICERs will assist the country in achieving UN’s SDGs 2, 14, and 15.
