TACLOBAN CITY – A 10-month-old girl tested positive for the new coronavirus disease in Calubian town, Leyte.

The girl was among the 64 new cases in Eastern Visayas which has now recorded a total of 1,265 infections as of Saturday, according to the Department of Health .The girl, whose family arrived last July 30 from Quezon City, showed no symptoms and was isolated to prevent the spread of the virus, said Dr. Zoilo Sabuyan, municipal health officer, in a phone interview.

The town of Guiuan in Eastern Samar also posted its first COVID-19 case involving a 24-year-old woman who accompanied a relative at the Eastern Visayas Regional Medical Center .
