Mayor Malik Evans is calling for an investigation into the incident. Rochester , N.Y. - A lawsuit filed in federal court Thursday claims a patient who died two weeks after he was removed from an ambulance during a medical emergency, was deprived of his civil rights .

It alleges the defendants violated Coleman's civil rights by removing him from an AMR ambulance and depriving him of the medical care he was entitled to.According to the filing, when the AMR crew arrived at Seneca Avenue and Coleman was loaded into the ambulance he became "panicked by his inability to breathe and grabbed the arm" of one of the EMTs.

Once police arrived, body-worn camera footage shows an officer asking Coleman to leave the ambulance and wait on the sidewalk. Video from a blue light camera shows Coleman sitting on a nearby bench and collapsing to the ground moments later.
