GEORGETOWN: Krisis ekonomi yang tercetus akibat pandemik Covid-19 menjadikan tambak laut di perairan selatan dan Pelan Induk Pengangkutan Pulau Pinang sebagai projek penting untuk dilaksanakan.
Tambahnya, satu kajian bebas menunjukkan setelah siap kelak, PSR mampu menarik RM70 bilion pelaburan langsung asing dan mewujudkan lebih 30,000 peluang pekerjaan sepanjang tempoh 30 tahun. Nurul Izzah menyifatkan projek tersebut tersasar daripada tujuan asal sebaliknya lebih banyak menumpukan kepada kepentingan sesetengah pihak serta mengabaikan kelestarian alam sekitar dan menjejaskan punca rezeki golongan nelayan.
“Tambahan pula, PSR menyasarkan menurunkan pengeluaran karbon sebanyak 40 peratus dan pencapaian 100 peratus penggunaan tenaga boleh diperbaharui serta mengurangkan permintaan air tawar sebanyak 70 peratus,” katanya.
