‘We cannot condemn the entire alcohol-drinking community for an offence committed by a few.’

Nobody will disagree that tougher laws are required for drunk drivers. But is it the law or the inability of the police to uphold the law that we are struggling with?

But what PAS information chief Kamaruzaman Mohamad says is clearly out of character and order. What he is saying is like asking all tahfiz schools to shut down because one or two had behaved badly, with some lives lost in fire, etc.And most probably, he is speaking on this issue because he is a Muslim. His citation of other sources like the World Health Organisation report is merely an excuse. Don't turn this into a ‘Muslim blaming non-Muslim’ issue.

Kamaruzaman, although a bona fide racist himself, did not mention race or religion in his argument on why he thinks the sale of alcohol should be temporarily halted, so why are these people bringing his race and religion into this. There are already provisions within the law for drunk-driving offences - just exercise the law. If it is not enough, then increase the charge to involuntary manslaughter. What a strange logic! Is alcohol the only or main cause of road accidents? Drug users cause far more accidents.

Yeah totaly don't ban alcohol. Just hang drunk driver la lol. Is that hard for people to not drink and drive? Is you mabuk is so important than others people safety? Be smart, drink at home.

Ban all human coz they destroying earth too!!!!!

Ban Alcohol! Morons can’t handle drinking and driving

Why it is misplaced logic? Dah Kalau x ada org consume arak, x adalah org mabuk arak.

How many death were cause by drunk driving ?

next pas might call for ban of cars? lol...if according to their logic, cars will cause accident. so all ride lembu.

Ban police for not enforcing

That's why PAS incapable to be government, zero economic capacity being their prominent weakness...solving problem based mostly on their religious theory.

Joker talk joker do!

Better “no ikat jamin” for drunk driving” is still better than banning alcoholic drinks “

Ban people also, because of too numerous abuses to mention.

I’d say ban human.

Alcohol and cigarettes no way of banning them in our country, they are revenue. That's the logic no matter how much we debate. Law enforcement need to get the job done to keep the situation in order. This is just my view.

Why don't they ban loud speakers, coz m8nk3ys dun know how to control the FOKKIN VOLUME?

Might as well ban cars, reduce automotive related incidents altogether.

Public education programme - if drink, don't drive...plus 👮🏿‍♂️👮🏻‍♀️👮🏽‍♂️👮🏾‍♂️ enforcement...

so drink drive and hit more people more logical ? or value of alcohol more logical compare human live? dont be idiot!!

Ban cigarettes!!

Not surprised at all....They are misplaced anyway ...

Drugs have been banned for long, any reduction in drugs abuse? But can see the underground mafia and some corrupted enforcers benefited from the illegal sales of contraband. Strict and serious enforcement is still the solution.

When yr loved ones are killed by drunk drivers only then the so-called 'misplaced' becomes very logic. Imbibing alcohol can not only kill u (and effect yr relatives) but also kill those not related to u

Ban drink and drive.

Well, Stupids are as Stupids does.

“Misplaced logic” my ass. Tell that to the victim’s family

just hang the drunk driver

Strange. Many ppl died from snatch thefts and rempits, yet PAS didn't mention also about banning motorcycles. Thousands of fatal accidents on highways caused by reckless driving, PAS didn't ask to ban cars also. So I think it's pretty obvious the agenda behind this call to ban.

It is a stupid decision and they will regret it later. It is the matter of abusing and it’s not consuming alcohol. Simple logic, look at Singapore, did they banned alcohol or dealing with abuser instead? Y not banning marriage since there r domestic violence?

For Malaysiakini, whatever PN does is misplaced logic. Just wait until someone close to Malaysiakini falls victim to drunk maniacs, and they might know the plight and sufferings the victims families go thru.

I have to drink to calm myself down to the rhetorical & absurd ‘ fart wah ‘ by pas & it’s devilish 🐖hardy bawang 👿

It's absolutely stupid to ban alcohol trading and drinking simply because that will lead to bootlegging and mafia type gangs to protect those bootlegging operations. Is that what stupid Pas-Umno terrorists and their stupid running dogs want to be happening in Malaysia?
