PETALING JAYA:"My mother said It is difficult to be a Sabahan in Peninsular Malaysia", said a woman in a TikTok video as she lamented the high airfares.
The woman said she usually flies from Penang to Kota Kinabalu but tickets for the route were sold out due to Hari Raya and she had to transit in Kuala Lumpur instead.She said due to delays in the flight from Penang, she missed the connecting flight to Sabah. When she tried to book a new ticket, the cheapest one-way fare available was RM641, with other options costing above RM1,000.This comes amidst the issue of high airfares and shortage of flights due to the Hari Raya season.
