FOR one week, a food delivery rider had to take baths at a clubhouse after the water supply to his rented house was cut because his bill was not settled, reported Sin Chew Daily.

That’s not the end of his financial woes – he has also defaulted on his house rent for three months and motorcycle loan for two months.

A Good Samaritan known only as Trinity came to his aid after his plight was highlighted by philanthropist Kuan Chee Heng, more fondly known as Uncle Kentang, on social media. Kuan, in a Facebook post, said the rider had applied to withdraw his Employees Provident Fund savings, to no avail.“He hoped I could help him settle the water bill as without water, he does not even dare to use the toilet as there was no water to flush.Kuan said a woman called Trinity offered to settle the rider’s outstanding water bill after learning about his plight from his social media post.

“Special thanks to Trinity who helped to settle the water bill arrears. I have also told the rider to fix the pipe leakage in the unit.Kuan got the Uncle Kentang moniker because he donates potatoes to the needy. Over the years, he has made a massive difference through various community initiatives to help Malaysians facing life challenges.
