KARNATAKA: Seorang wartawan berusia 46 tahun yang mengesyaki terkena jangkitan COVID di daerah Davangere di sini telah bertindak meragut nyawanya dengan melompat ke landasan sebelum berlari ke arah kereta api di Amaravati, Honnali.
Menurut polis, wartawan yang dikenali sebagai Paramesh itu bekerja sambilan dengan harian Kannada di daerah itu. Memetik laporan Indian Express, dia mempunyai simptom seperti demam, selesema dan batuk sejak beberapa hari terakhir, demikian menurut rakan-rakan karibnya yang kemudian memberitahu polis bahawa dia takut akan dijangkiti virus yang ditakuti.
Selain itu dia juga melahirkan kebimbangan jika dijangkiti Covid-19 tidak ada katil untuk menempatkannya di hospital selain tidak oksigen dan sokongan perubatan.Dia meninggalkan isteri dan dua anaknya.Sebelumnya dia bekerja sebagai wartawan di akhbar ‘Andolana’, ‘Lankesh Patrike’ dan ‘Janavahini’.
