PETALING JAYA: The health ministry has reported 3,551 Covid-19 cases and 19 deaths in the past 24 hours.
Health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said there were 2,709 recoveries, bringing the total number of those discharged to 392,555.There are 33,762 active cases, with 354 patients being treated in intensive care and 199 requiring respiratory assistance.Selangor recorded the highest number of cases with 1,137. This was followed by Kuala Lumpur , Sarawak , Kelantan , Penang , Johor , Perak , Kedah , Pahang , Negeri Sembilan , Melaka , Sabah , Terengganu , Putrajaya , Perlis and Labuan .
The new cases today involved 3,535 local infections and 16 imported cases. Local cases comprised 3,242 Malaysians and 293 foreigners. There were three cases linked to detention centres today, involving the Tembok Pengkalan Chepa and Pagar Sri Lalang clusters. The 19 deaths today involved 18 Malaysians and one foreigner, aged between 31 and 92. All but two of them had existing medical conditions.for breaking news and the latest announcements.
