Robert Phang says voters should use the power of their vote to clip the wings of candidates facing trial. FMTNews Sabah

Robert Phang says he pities Sabahans as political parties on both sides were offering individuals facing criminal charges as candidates.

“Any ordinary, righteous-thinking person will feel ‘funny’ that those who are facing trial can be picked to stand for election,” said Phang, who is a social activist. Phang also said he had concerns about money politics and urged the authorities to look into this as election campaigning swings into full gear.

He was commenting on allegations made by Warisan president Shafie Apdal against former Sabah chief minister Musa Aman and his brother Anifah.
