: Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail said restricting travel abroad against borrowers who fail to repay loans from the National Higher Education Fund Corporation are not appropriate.

“We haven’t made any decision. When did we discuss it? PTPTN has provided space and opportunities for the students to pursue higher studies but there are a handful who did not service their PTPTN study loans . The Member of Parliament for Pandan told this to reporters after attending a breaking of fast event for disabled people organised by the Pandan Indah Constituency Service Centre and Selangor Ehsan Ummah Welfare Organisation here today.

Meanwhile, in JERLUN, Wan Saiful urged the public to channel feedback to PTPTN via the right channel namely Kertas Konsultasi Rakyat which is provided on its official website.

Will the public in general be exempted fm this too if they don't pay eg their loans, taxes? With due respect, the borrower shd take responsibility & pay back, so that other needy folks can benefit as well.

JUST DO IT! Either pay up or stay home.

Give Wan Saiful a break, he’s telling the truth — Geoffrey Williams | Malay MailMAY 19 — Wan Saiful Wan Jan, Chairman of PTPTN, is fast becoming Malaysia’s very own Theresa May — a very good person with a seemingly impossible job! Rightly admired for his honesty and insightful thought-leadership, Wan Saiful and his team at PTPTN have done an excellent job in laying out... The dumb commenters & columnists who don't see that the one at fault are the stupid defaulters in the 1st place. If you can't afford to study and don't want to be burdened by a loan then don't take it in the first place. The govt is giving a loan. Not a grant. Not a scholarship. Like the EPF, all PTPTN borrowers should be listed in the system and an auto debit should be incurred based on bandwidth. If that student cannot 'afford' it then they should not take the loan. Then you will be debt-free. Simple. If you have no means to pay back in future, do not study. At first u act grateful when the govt gives u a loan and when your studies is over u say bad things and refuse to pay back? Such entitlement! Malaysians do deserve to be burnt to the ground.

Idris Jusoh: Pakatan should stick to Barisan formula to collect PTPTN debtsMELAKA: The Pakatan Harapan government should use Barisan Nasional's formula to collect arrears owed to the National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN), says former higher education minister, Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh. Nonsensical minister. Irresponsible BN is totally guilty of pampering the students to be equally irresponsible not to pay their debts.
