IPOH: Datuk Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man says an investigation has been launched over claims that a river in Jelapang here is being polluted.

"We have received a complaint about pollution of a river here, said to come from the Jelapang industrial area.

"The complainant has been contacted to get more information. The Department of Environment will investigate and take the necessary action," he said.A man can be heard saying that the water in the river had turned white and was covered with a foamy substance."The river sometimes turns yellow, green and blue. Thousands of fish have died, ” he said.

He also claimed that the pollution was caused by a glove-making factory and questioned why no action had been taken.
