In a press conference today, Loke said that despite the project’s engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning contractor is China Communications Construction Sdn Bhd — a China-based company it has included local talents to complete the project. Apart from the inclusion of the local workforce, he said that the ECRL project has achieved the milestone of 10 million safe man-hours without any lost-time injury.

“This campaign is timely to foster safety awareness as this mega project is progressing rapidly and has over 17,000 workforce and 350 major work sites to date,” he added.

Dude, you go to any construction sites in MY, try count the % of MYsian workers. Memang sikit lah. Hampir semua buruh adalah Indonesia dan Bangladesh. So to get 32%, hampir 5.5k .. kira ok lah tu

So little. We all know China bring their own manpower.

Sad data. Only 32%

Just 32%? That's shameful, well below expectation. ASEAN's first high speed rail (HSR) in Indonesia employs 87% local workers -- should be the example to follow anthonyloke Again Malaysia is behind Indonesia .

That's a poor number. Why isn't it 70%? Blame goes to those approved the contract in the first place with an inflated price!

anthonyloke MOTMalaysia 17,000 ppl are working on ECRL? That's an incredible figure. Pls publish a complete breakdown by country and job designations so we know this figure is correct!
