The launch showcased the fully operational one-megawatt Bess prototype that was developed and piloted in December 2022 and currently supports the Genetec Technology Epic plant’s energy needs. The Bess system was developed by Citaglobal Genetec BESS Sdn Bhd, a special-purpose vehicle formed by Citaglobal Bhd andTheir exclusive collaboration agreement was formalised on Oct 6, 2022, to develop battery energy storage management systems to store and manage excess power during the generation of renewable energy.
"It is part of what we do from now on because we have invested in this together with our partner, Genetec, and we definitely want to find a place to showcase the first Malaysian-made ,” he added.
