BALING: Tiada kolam takungan air di atas Gunung Inas bagi projek tanaman Musang King pecah yang dikatakan penyebab kepada tragedi kepala air dan banjir lumpur pada petang Isnin lalu di Sungai Kupang, Kampung Iboi, di sini.
Oleh demikian, katanya, hasil terkini mendapati sumber air yang terkumpul terlalu banyak di Gunung Inas sebelum mengalir laju melalui puluhan cerun ke Sungai Kupang dipercayai menjadi punca bencana terbabit. “Saya dapati air terkumpul banyak dalam satu masa dan ada berpuluh-puluh lorong yang terbentuk di Gunung Inas yang mengalir ke bawah di sudut cerun yang sangat curam dan menyebabkan air bergerak laju di Lata Celak dalam tempoh serentak,” katanya dalam kenyataan di sini, hari ini.

The frightening aspect of the overflow of water is the large amount of debris from trees, shrubs and wood waste uprooted from the logging area. This clearly shows that logging for years and other forms of deforestation are the main causes of floods. The logging activities doesn't have to be ongoing to cause this.
