Tom Bosworth says athletes can gain so much in 2 to 3-month period where there’s no testing. FMTNews Race Walker

Bosworth says lockdown is a good opportunity for Wada to reevaluate testing system.

The World Anti-Doping Agency said last month that the pandemic had created challenges for drug testers with countries closing borders, cancelling flights and enforcing quarantines, and with the shutdown of the sporting calendar. “It is such a blatantly obvious advantage – to those who see sport just as a way of winning at all costs and making money, this is a gift,” Bosworth, who won silver at the 2018 Commonwealth Games, told the newspaper.

Despite the challenges faced by authorities, Wada chief Witold Banka said last month that any athlete who attempted to take advantage of the gap in testing would be caught and eliminated from sport.
