GEORGE TOWN: A teacher in a rural primary school of 250 pupils has done the country proud by being the sole Malaysian winner of this year’s Google Innovator Academy’s certified coaching award.

Premalatha Selvaraj, 37, teaches mathematics and information and communications technology at SJK Ladang Krian but her passion for teaching and learning does not end there.

The programme is recognised by the Education Ministry and is part of the Digital Educational Learning Initiative Malaysia under the Digital Certification Training Programme of the ministry. She said in 2015, she won the Google Innovator Academy certification, the first stage of learning how to use the digital tools.
