IPOH: The government does not have any objections if states want to buy vaccines on their own, says Khairy Jamaluddin.

The coordinating minister for the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme said, however, that the issue was not about the purchase, but the availability of supply.“If the states are able to procure the vaccines, I have no issue with that, and we can even give permission, but at this moment, there is a problem of supply, ” he told reporters after visiting the vaccination centre at Stadium Indera Mulia here on Tuesday .

“NPRA needs to sanction two more vaccines, and once all that is solved, then the NPRA can help the state governments with the procurement, ” he added. He said this was thanks to efficient planning and a high vaccination rate. “Also, Kinta is the district where the highest number of people have been vaccinated throughout the country.

“The success is due to the good management, and the efficient flow with a queue management system, which other centres in the country should follow, ” he added.
