KLANG: Jenjarom New Village resident Pua Lay Peng hopes whoever is elected as the new Banting assemblyman will be someone familiar with environmental pollution issues.

Pua, who is the secretary of the Kuala Langat Environment Action Association , said the local community wanted someone they could communicate with effectively."We need someone who can communicate with us and understand the gravity of the pollution issue that's been affecting us for years," said Pua.

"There are now about three schools that are literally back-to-back with some heavy industry factories," claimed Pua. "The recycling factories in Kuala Langat are now receiving garbage from the Unites States, United Kingdom, Europe, Japan and Australia," said Pua.
