Samsung could turn to MediaTek chips for the Galaxy S25 series after issues with Exynos 2500

According to Korean media FNN via IT Home, Samsung may cooperate with MediaTek to customise chips for the Galaxy S25 series of mobile phones because the yield rate of the Exynos 2500 chip is low and cannot meet mass production requirements. Currently, Samsung's Exynos 2500 chip yield rate is still less than 20%, and it is unclear whether it can be used in the Galaxy S25 series of mobile phones in the future.

For your information, Samsung has set the latest time for mass production of the Exynos 2500 chip as the end of this year, so the Samsung LSI department still has some time between September and October to improve the yield rate of the next-generation flagship self-developed mobile phone processor. Due to the shortage of TSMC's 3nm process, which has triggered a price increase, supply chain sources said that Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 has increased by 25% compared with the previous generation, and is expected to exceed US$250 .
