KOTA KINABALU: A total of 83 citations have been issued by the Sabah Environment Department for failure to comply with environmental laws .
In a statement on Tuesday , the department said it had conducted Ops Gempur Raya in several districts to prevent environmental pollution during the lead-up to Hari Raya Aidilfitri.“The department will not hesitate to take action against any party violating environmental laws, as contained in the Environmental Quality Act 1974 and other regulations," the department added.
